Marrakech 2006: Bachchan to be honoured

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured at the Marrakech International Film Festival in  Morocco. The sixth edition of the festival will run from December 1 to 9 2006.

Along with Bachchan, Hollywood director Ridley Scott and Oliver Stone will be honoured.

Felicitations will be offered to French actor Alain Delon, Egyptian actress Youssra and Moroccan actress Amina Rachid.

A special tribute will be paid to the late French director and film critic, Daniel Toscan du Plantier.

French actress Nathalie Baye will be the hostess at the opening ceremony, which will include Moroccan director Faouzi Bensaidi's movie, Mille Moisv ("One Hundred Months").

Seventy-three films will be screened at the festival. A number of Indian pictures too.
